Drone Training
Drone Training November 1 & 2 at Training and Outreach.
Always wanted to fly a drone - but not sure how to do so safely - and how to get your
FAA license?
NMJC's Training and Outreach is teaching two courses to help you:
Basic Operation – Learn to Fly Safely - Friday, November 1
Drone Operation – Basic Level. This is a fun one day class for adults that would like
to learn how to safely operate a sUAS. It is designed for those with little or no
experience to learn the rules and regulations and gain experience and confidence with
hands-on drone operation. This course is designed with 75% of the day focused on flying.
Flying experience will be mastered in numerous small steps. At the completion of this
course you should have the ability to have fun safely and confidently operating a
drone. Cost is $89.
Drone Operation Part 107 – Prep for FAA sUAS test – Saturday, November 2
Drone Operation – Part 107. This is a one day class for adults to learn the information
required to pass the FAA’s Remote Pilot Exam. A Remote Pilot license is required for
anyone operating a sUAS in their business or for any type of compensation. The Remote
Pilot’s written exam is similar to that required to obtain a private pilot license.
For most, this is very difficult. A significant portion of the test material requires
understanding airport operations such as weather reports and sectional maps including
airspace classifications. This course discusses the material, provides explanations,
and answers questions. It is highly recommended prior to the FAA test. Cost is $99.
