Hobbs, NM — Devon Energy recently strengthened its commitment to New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) with a $42,941.75 donation. The donation will support equipment for NMJC Workforce Development's Automation and Industrial Systems Program. This investment will enhance hands-on training opportunities and ensure students have access to modern, industry-relevant tools as they prepare for careers in high-demand fields.
The donated funds will be used to purchase automation equipment critical to workforce training programs, helping NMJC align instruction with current industry standards and employer needs.
“This generous support from Devon Energy allows us to expand our capacity in serving more students,” said NMJC Vice President for Workforce Development Steve Sauceda. “Automation skills are increasingly essential across many industries, and this equipment will ensure our students graduate with practical, job-ready experience that meets workforce demands.” Devon Energy’s contribution reflects a strong commitment to education, workforce readiness, and community partnership in southeastern New Mexico.
“We are incredibly grateful for Devon Energy’s continued investment in NMJC and our students,” said NMJC Vice President for Advancement Rachel Gallagher. “This donation not only strengthens our workforce development programs but also demonstrates Devon Energy’s belief in the power of education to transform lives and support regional economic growth.” Through partnerships like this, NMJC continues to expand access to high-quality training programs that prepare students for meaningful employment while supporting local and regional employers.
