Hobbs, NM — New Mexico Junior College’s (NMJC) Outreach & Engagement team has been honored with a Medallion Award from the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations (NCMPR) District 4 Conference, 2025, recognizing excellence in a computer-generated illustration created by NMJC’s Graphic and Media Design Coordinator, Roger Barr.

The NCMPR Medallion Awards celebrate outstanding achievement among marketing and public relations professionals at community and technical colleges across the nation. NMJC’s winning entry stood out for its creativity, technical execution, and visual storytelling.

“I’m very excited that another illustrative opportunity came to me and I was able to work with my department to put out something so well received by many marketing professionals,” said Roger Barr, Graphic and Media Design Coordinator. “Bringing this medallion to NMJC reinforces to me that we’re doing great work here and I’m excited for what’s to come.”

Valerie Gauna, Director of Outreach & Engagement, shared her pride in the team’s success, stating, “I cannot say just how proud I am of my team. The steady changes, requests, and increasing demand is something to juggle, but the opportunities to be creative are such a blessing and a treat! This team is the best team to work with, and I look forward to supporting them, to support the NMJC brand going forward.”

The recognition marks another milestone for NMJC’s Outreach & Engagement team, highlighting their dedication to creativity, collaboration, and excellence in promoting success through learning.
