On Thursday, June 5, 2025, New Mexico Junior College welcomed Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham and the full State Cabinet for a Community Town Hall event aimed at giving voice to local residents.
The event, which was open to all members of the public, began with a lively and informative State Expo, where attendees had the opportunity to visit booths offering valuable resources related to health care, food assistance, unemployment benefits, and more. In addition to helpful information, the expo featured fun giveaways and the distribution of 500 pre-packed grocery bags to support families in Lea County.
Following the expo, Governor Lujan Grisham took the stage alongside the entire state cabinet for an open Town Hall discussion. The Governor invited community members to express their hopes, concerns, and questions in an open, respectful environment. Topics ranged from education and infrastructure to health services and economic development.
New Mexico Junior College is grateful to serve as a gathering place for meaningful conversations and connections. Events like this town hall reflect the college’s commitment to listening, learning, and working together toward a stronger, more united community.
