Energy Technician Certificate
New Mexico Junior College has expanded it's Oil and Gas Training with an ENERGY TECHNICIAN CERTIFICATE. This incorporates a full semester of college classroom courses followed by a semester of practical training. This one year certificate plan has been designed to provide fundamental training for an entry level career in the Oil and Gas Industry.
Classroom curriculum consists of 19 credit hours including:
- Introduction to the Oil and Gas Industry
- Petroleum Recovery and Production Methods
- Drilling Technology and Operations
- Computer Applications
- Geology
- Fundamentals of Prints and Drawings
Practical training consists of 12 credit hours including:
- Lease Pumper Training - classroom and field
- Instument and Controls - I&C lab
- O&G Internship or relevant experience
