Virtual Staked Plains

staked plains

Every year, students in the 4th grade are invited to New Mexico Junior College campus to discover how life has changed on the Llano Estacado, also known as the Staked Plains.  Students are led to various stations where they will learn about roping, branding, agriculture, and so much more.  After eating lunch (their own brown bag lunch), students are treated to a special performance which may include trick ropers, Native American Dancers and more.

This year, join us for a digital event.  Check our Facebook page or Instagram page all day September 10-11 for videos featuring some of your favorite demonstrators from Staked Plain plus some new friends.  We'll be sharing videos of past events as well as some fun activities related to our demonstrators (see below).

This event is for everyone.  If you want access to any of the videos after the event you'll find them on our YouTube page!
