Staked Plains Roundup is an annual, two-day event, normally for 4th graders, located on the campus of New Mexico Junior College and hosted by the Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame. This event allows students to visit various presenters, each discussing an aspect of life on the Llano Estacado, or Staked Plains, past or present.
Students, teachers, and the community are invited to participate in this virtual event. If you’ve attended the event in the past, you’ll notice some of our favorite presenters, but you’ll find some new faces as well. Learn about branding, native plants and animals, New Mexican music, and so much more.
Access to the event is free and easy: log on to Facebook or Instagram for videos and activities posted throughout the days. Want to watch them all at once, or access them later? Check out the Museum’s YouTube channel and click on the Staked Plains playlist.
