October 23 – Hobbs, NM. Although New Mexico Junior College did not hold classes on Friday,
October 20 due to an In-Service day, one would have never known, judging from
the approximately 350 high school seniors parading around campus for Senior
Day.
Senior Day is an opportunity for Lea County high school seniors to come out to the NMJC campus and experience the college first hand. High school students who attended Senior Day received a highlight tour of the campus followed by performances from the NMJC ThunderSpirits (cheerleaders), the Men’s Basketball team, and all three of the Performing Arts Departments. Students were also treated to a hamburger and hotdog cookout in the courtyard where members of campus departments were available for students’ questions. Other festivities accompanying the cookout were cotton candy, snow cones, personalized hologram cards and silicone bracelets, clowns, and numerous drawings for prizes including an iPod nano.
