Jurado Wins First Place in SkillsUSA Pin and T-Shirt Contest

October 20 — Hobbs, NM. Mireya Jurado is in the New Mexico Junior ACT Academy, Cosmetology Division, and also a junior at Hobbs High School. Jurado recently accomplished something that has never been done at NMJC. She won first place in the New Mexico SkillsUSA pin and t-shirt contest. Her design will now be the logo for the shirts and pins at the SkillsUSA contest at the national competition. For accomplishing this she wins, a monetary prize, two extra t-shirts, five extra pins, recognition in the New Mexico SkillsUSA program, and on their website. This marks the first time an NMJC student has won this award.
