5/1/2013 8:03:18 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. HOBBS, NM – Rob Dobrik, General manager of Operations for Chevron’s Mid-Continent Business Unit presented a check for $50,000 in scholarship funds to Dr. Steve McCleery, president of NMJC, on Tuesday, April 30, at 1:45 p.m. on the main floor of the Lea County Events Center. Dr. McCleery accepted the funds on behalf of the New Mexico Junior College Foundation. The presentation was made in conjunction with the Chevron Hobbs Hiring Event scheduled at 2 p.m. in the same location.

Half the scholarship funds will go to students seeking energy technology degrees, while the remaining $25,000 will go to students seeking associate’s degrees.
