New Mexico Junior College Offers Free Cosmetology Services for Cancer Patients

The Cosmetology Department’s Reaching Out program at New Mexico Junior College provides free cosmetology services to cancer patients and assists with personalized beauty techniques to help combat the appearance-related side effects that cancer treatments often cause.
For men, women, or children who are currently suffering the ravages of cancer, the Reaching Out program offers free haircuts; shampoos and sets; facials; manicures and pedicures; scalp treatments; eyebrow, lip, and chin waxing; wig washing and styling; and make-up application. Services that require chemicals, such as highlights, perms, and hair color, are provided at half-price.
The Reaching Out program is offered Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday during the fall and spring semesters from 8:30-11 a.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. No appointments are necessary.
