NMJC Offers Saturday Classes
7/1/2009 12:32:36 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. Students who are interested in taking business courses at New Mexico Junior College this fall will have one more day each week to choose from.
According to Robert Guthrie, Professor of Accounting and Business Department Chair, five additional business courses will be offered on Saturdays during the fall semester. “They’re open to anyone, of course, but we think they’ll be especially beneficial to people who can’t make it out to NMJC during the week, yet who prefer face-to-face classes over online classes,” he said.
The courses are designed to allow students to take either one or two business classes per semester strictly on Saturdays, Guthrie explained. “It’s a pretty convenient way to get an education on weekends,” he said, “and because each class is relatively short, students can still have the rest of the day for themselves. NMJC’s dedicated to providing access to education, and this is just one more way to ensure that people have that opportunity.”
Saturday classes for this fall include Intro to Business, Business Law I, Retailing, Salesman ship, and Principles of Real Estate.
