NMJC Campus Ambassadors Inducted
8/28/2008 1:05:52 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. On Thursday, August 21, 2008, New Mexico Junior College proudly inducted four new members into Campus Ambassadors. The NMJC Campus Ambassadors organization seeks to provide opportunities for outstanding students to develop leadership and communication skills through involvement in student recruitment and community relations activities at the college.
At Thursday night's induction ceremony, two returnees were noted and four new members were recognized. Speaker Tiffany Michelle Lopez officially began the evening with a brief speech. This was followed by dinner and recognition of the Ambassadors. NMJC President Steve McCleery concluded the evening with a speech on the importance of commitment.
Returning this semester were 2007 Hobbs High School graduates, Tiffany Lopez and Lucy Munoz. Inducted were Gabriela Franco, Sara Marquez, Ricardo Munoz and Calley Pritchett. A 2007 graduate of Hobbs High School, Franco plans to transfer to University of New Mexico after graduating from NMJC. Both Munoz and Marquez are 2007 graduates of Artesia High School and both intend to transfer to New Mexico State University after graduation from NMJC. Pritchett is a 2007 graduate of Levelland High School and plans to become a teacher and coach.
"We are very pleased to be joined by these four talented young adults and look forward to working with them in the Campus Ambassadors program," said CA co-sponsor Jennifer McClure. "All of the Ambassadors have shown excellence in their academic and extra-curricular activities. Each one brings unique individual skills and experiences to the organization, which will benefit the community they serve."
