NMJC Museum to Host Childrens Art Workshop

5/22/2008 8:10:48 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. Heads up, young artists! The Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame will be hosting nationally acclaimed illustrator and animator Rex Barron on Tuesday, June 17, 2008, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.


Barron, whose repertoire includes work on television and film productions for Hanna Barbera, Ralph Bakshi Productions and Filmation Studio, will instruct participants in character design and motion.

Children age 10-16 are invited to join Barron for this unique workshop. Cost is $25 per person or $10 for Museum members. Lunch and supplies are included, but participants will need to bring their basic character design or choose a popular culture character to work with.

To register for the workshop, interested participants are instructed to go to http://www.nmjc.edu/whatishappening/releases/barronflyer.pdf and fill out a registration form. Forms can be mailed to 5317 Lovington Highway, Hobbs, NM 88240, or dropped by the Museum. Space is limited so register before June 17, 2008.
