Three NMJC Baseball Players Named as NJCAA All-Americans

Three NMJC Baseball Players Named as NJCAA All-Americans photo 6/11/2007 3:59:59 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. Three of NMJC's baseball players, Adalberto Santos, James Lilley, and Brian Cavazos-Galvez, were recently named to the National Junior College Athletic Association's All-American teams.

Santos, a sophomore from Bronx, NY, and Lilley, a sophomore from Las Cruces, NM, were both named to the first All-American team. Santos was named for the position of infield, and Lilley was named as the designated hitter.

Santos led the NJCAA Division I with a .528 batting average and was one of nine players to receive the 2007 Rawlings/NJCAA Baseball Big Stick Award. Lilley ended the season with a .894 fielding percentage, recording 42 assists and only seven errors.

Cavazos-Galvez, a sophomore from Albuquerque, NM, received an honorable mention in the outfield position. Cavazos-Galvez ended the season with a .477 batting average and a .927 fielding average, recording only three errors.
