NMJC Baseball on Their Way to Regionals

NMJC Baseball on Their Way to Regionals photo 4/27/2007 2:12:09 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. With the Western Junior College Athletic Conference title and being ranked No. 1 in the nation by the National Junior College Athletic Association for the third straight week, the New Mexico Junior College Thunderbird baseball team is on its way to the Region V tournament that will begin on May 12 in Lubbock, TX.

The Thunderbirds won three games out of a four games series this past weekend against El Paso Community College, giving NMJC the WJCAC title.

More impressive than being ranked No. 1 for three weeks straight is the fact that for the second week in a row, NMJC unanimously received all 10 first place votes for the past two weeks.

NMJC will finish regular season play against Odessa College with a four game series beginning May 4. The Thunderbirds will play at home on May 4 and in Odessa on May 5.
