The Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame, located on the campus of New Mexico Junior College, will have special holiday hours during the Christmas season beginning Tuesday, December 26.
The Museum is usually closed when New Mexico Junior College campus is closed (the college will be closed December 23 – January 7), but decided to offer special hours during the winter break. “We want the community to be able to bring their family and friends to see the beautiful Christmas decorations and Bonnie Moran’s North Pole Village,” said Dr. Darrell Beauchamp, Director of the museum. “Once again our staff has volunteered to keep the Museum open on a limited basis this holiday season.”
The Museum will be open from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, December 26 through Saturday, December 30; and Tuesday, January 2 through Sunday, January 7. The museum will be closed December 23-25 and December 31 – January 1.
In addition, the Museum will present the 1951 version of the classic Christmas film “A Christmas Carol”, Saturday December 30 at 2:00pm. Admission is free, with free popcorn and beverage.
