Chevron North America’s Midcontinent Business Unit donated $20,000 to New Mexico Junior College for student scholarships.  The check was presented to the NMJC Foundation to be used for students seeking Associate Degrees.

“Chevron believes that for people and communities to thrive, nothing is more important than education”, said Nick Moschetti, Operations Supervisor for Chevron’s Vacuum Field Management Team in Lea County. “We wanted to give back to our community, and helping students succeed in college without worrying about how to pay for their tuition or books is a good investment.”

Dr. Steve McCleery, President of New Mexico Junior College, said “Over the last ten to twelve years, we have awarded $1.7 million in scholarships.  Gifts like this to our Foundation from educational partners like Chevron make this possible, and enable more students to achieve their dreams.”

Tina Kunko, Accountant/Controller for NMJC Foundation stated that over 200 scholarship applications have been received from students for the upcoming semester. “This gift will help us assist even more students than before.  We truly thank Chevron for this very generous gift.”
