5/5/2014 2:58:11 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. In the last regular season meet at Texas Tech in Lubbock, the Thunderbirds continued their great season.

Leading the way was Gleneve Grange and Purity Murray. Grange won the shot put and discus throw at the meet. “Gleneve is getting right where she needs to be for the end of the year and beat a lot of good throwers today” commented Coach Blackwill. Murray continued the winning for the Thunderbirds by winning the steeple chase. In her first time ever doing the event, not only did she win, but she always qualified for nationals and set the NMJC school record. “Purity ran well and surprised a lot of people for her first steeple chase,” commented Coach Becker

This meet concludes a great 2014 regular season. The team will now have two weeks to get ready for the NJCAA Outdoor Championships in Mesa, AZ.
