Xanadu The Musical Comes to NMJC
3/17/2014 5:12:37 p.m. - Hobbs, NM.
Xanadu, the award-winning Broadway musical, will be performed at New Mexico Junior College March 22, 23, 27, 28, 29 and 30, creating the magic of 1980.
Xanadu follows the journey of a magical and beautiful Greek muse, Kira, who descends from the heavens of Mt. Olympus to Venice Beach, California in 1980 on a quest to inspire a struggling artist, Sonny, to achieve the greatest artistic creation of all time - the first ROLLER DISCO (remember, it’s 1980!)
This hilarious musical features songs of the 1980’s with all the costumes and feel of that magical time. And just like the Broadway show, the Performing Arts Department’s rendition will feature the audience on stage as part of the magic that makes Xanadu the award-winning show it is.
Xanadu will be performed in Watson Hall Auditorium on the campus of New Mexico Junior College March 22, 27, 28 and 29 at 8:00pm. Show times on Sundays, March 23 and 30, will be at 2:00pm. Tickets are $10 each. Free for NMJC faculty, staff and students.
Xanadu is directed by Juston Harlin, conducted by Dr. Yau-Sun Wong, and choreographed by Josh Berner.
