NMJC Rodeo Takes Second in Ranger

NMJC Rodeo Takes Second in Ranger  photo 3/16/2007 9:31:11 a.m. - Hobbs, NM. The New Mexico Junior College women's rodeo team took second place at the Ranger Intercollegiate Rodeo held this past weekend in Ranger, Texas.

Scoring 235 points total, NMJC rode away in second place out of 19 teams in the competition. NMJC finished only five points behind contest winner Texas Tech.

Freshman Kobi Olineck placed sixth in the first round and tied for third in the second round, leaving her in fifth place at the end of the goat-tying event. Sophomore Alicia Sandoval placed second in the first round and first in the second round, leaving her as the winner of the barrel-racing event.

Jordyn Nielsen tied for tenth place in the men's bull riding event.
