3/8/2007 12:52:05 p.m. - Hobbs, NM. New Mexico Junior College's Phi Beta Lambda student organization hosted a speaker forum and luncheon on Tuesday featuring Joan Tucker, CEO of Joan Tucker & Associates, L.L.C.

With almost 50 students, faculty, and staff in attendance, the PBL student organization provided attendees with an opportunity to hear about business leadership, which is one of three focal components for the organization.

Tucker, with almost 20 years of previous experience with IBM, in banking, and in higher education, spoke to attendees about lasting success and how it is built by relationships that were developed in trust. Tucker also emphasized that effective recognition is recognition that is done individualistically, specifically, and when deserved.

PBL, also known as Future Business Leaders of America, is a nonprofit education association of students preparing for careers in business and business-related fields. The organization brings business and education together in a positive, working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.

The PBL student organization plans to hold a speaker forum every spring semester. For more information on NMJC's PBL student organization, contact Robert Guthrie at 575.492.2532 or Toni Dunn at 575.492.2533.
