Educational Talent Search (ETS)

Educational Talent Search is a federally funded program that helps 6th thru 12th graders stay in school and go on to college. It was created by the federal government in the 1960's and there are Educational Talent Search Programs in every state. Our office is located on the campus of New Mexico Junior College. We provide tutoring, mentoring, and information on college and universities. We also give our participants information on how to pay for college and information on careers. Once participants reach 9th grade, they are eligible to go on campus visits with us, which include NMSU, UNM, Texas Tech, and others. All students are eligible to go on cultural trips to museums and historical places. Everything we provide is free to Educational Talent Search participants. The goal of our early intervention is to increase the number of youth who graduate from high school and enter college. Educational Talent Search es un programa fundado por el federal que les ayuda a los niños del sexto grado hasta el dose para que se queden en la escuela y entren al colegio. Nosotros tenemos clases de lecciones particulares, mentores, y informacion de varios colegios y universidades. Nosotros tambien les damos a los participantes informacion en como preparace para los costos del colegio y informacion de todos las careras que hay para ellos. Cuando los participantes llegan al nueve, ellos son elegibles para participar en los viajes que tenemos a los diferentes colegios de sus preferencias. Los viajes que tenemos son para NMSU, UNM, Texas Tech, y otros colegios. Todos los estudiantes son elegible para air en estos viajes culturales para los museos y lugares historicos.
