The Physical Plant department maintains the college buildings and grounds with a concern for and an emphasis on safety and security. They are on call for response to reports of potential safety and security hazards, such as broken windows and locks. To report potential safety or security hazards or to request a work order to repair damaged or malfunctioning equipment call 575.392.5519, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. excluding holidays. The Security Department also has home phone numbers of maintenance employees who can provide immediate assistance for safety and security matters regardless of the day or time.
Campus lighting, consisting of high intensity sodium vapor lights, illuminate buildings, parking lots, and interior walkways. In addition, there are two outdoor pay phones located near the center of the campus. Campus landscaping is maintained to increase visibility and to eliminate potential areas where a person or persons could conceal themselves.
