Campus Security

Campus security and safety is coordinated by the Student Services sector of the college. The NMJC campus security force consists of six full-time staff members as well as the Director of Security. Security personnel conduct foot and vehicle patrol of the campus including residence hall areas daily and are on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays. NMJC works very closely with the New Mexico State Police and the Lea County Sheriff's Department. All law enforcement requirements are handled by these two powers. Campus security serves as a deterrent to NMJC rule violations relating to alcoholic beverages, illegal drugs, firearms, and dangerous weapons on campus, and parking and driving violations that occur on the campus. Security personnel also assist with the investigation of personal injury incidents that may occur on the campus. NMJC security employees investigate and document violations of the student code of conduct. The investigations of these violations of the student code are then turned over to the Vice President of Student Services. They also promote safety on the campus and secure campus facilities.
