How to Challenge a Class

New Mexico Junior College recognizes that students learn by ways other than the formal class setting. Therefore, the college has three ways students can challenge a class and demonstrate their prior knowledge in an area. The three different examinations to challenge a class are:

Advanced Placement (AP)

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

Institutional Challenge

These three tests allow you to be recognized and rewarded for what you know, no matter how or where you learned it – in school, on the job, or through your own reading, observation, and independent study.
