Must bring:

  • Parent's 2018 Federal Income Tax Return
  • Student's 2018 Federal Income Tax Return

New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) is hosting a workshop Saturday, February 15th from 9:00 a.m. to noon in the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center to help potential students apply for scholarships and financial aid.

Financial aid professionals will be on hand to answer questions and guide parents and students through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  Anyone can apply for FAFSA, and having experts show students how to answer questions on the application should alleviate many mistakes often made.

To apply for FAFSA at the workshop, students must bring their 2018 federal income tax return, along with their parents’ return if the student is a dependent.

Staff members of the NMJC Foundation will also present a workshop for those students wishing to apply for scholarships.  The Foundation has awarded almost $3 million in scholarships, work-study, and program assistance since 1969. A variety of scholarships are available, with the majority providing assistance toward tuition and fees.  All scholarship applications for the 2020-2021 school year are due at the NMJC Foundation office on March 1, 2020.
