Center for Disease Control and Prevention – This fine site contains many helpful and informative links that encompass the many facets of the CDC. It provides helpful and up to date information on not only diseases in America, but also worldwide. It gives you current travelers information so that if you travel out of country you know what to expect health wise and what to watch for in virtually any country you might be entering. It has links to the many publications, software, and products offered through the CDC. It also contains links to the current CDC Factbook, the Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report, and the Emerging Infectious Diseases Journal.
Department of Health and Human Services – The Department of Health and Human Services is the United States government's principal agency for protecting the health of all Americans and providing essential human services, especially for those who are least able to help themselves. The Department includes more than 300 programs, covering a wide spectrum of activities.
Food and Drug Administration – The Food and Drug Administration touches the lives of virtually every American every day. For it is FDA's job to see that the food we eat is safe and wholesome, the cosmetics we use won't hurt us, the medicines and medical devices we use are safe and effective, and that radiation-emitting products such as microwave ovens won't do us harm. Feed and drugs for pets and farm animals also come under FDA scrutiny. FDA also ensures that all of these products are labeled truthfully with the information that people need to use them properly.
National Center for Health Statistics – The NCHS is a part of the CDC and the DHHS providing data used by federal agencies meeting priority data needs.
