American Century of Lawmaking for a New Nation – Beginning with the Continental Congress in 1774, America's national legislative bodies have kept records of their proceedings. The records of the Continental Congress, the Constitutional Convention, and the United States Congress comprise a rich documentary history of the construction of the nation, the development of the federal government, and its role in the national life. These documents record American history in the words of those who built our government.
Code of Federal Regulations – The Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) is a codification of the general and permanent rules published in the Federal Register by the Executive departments and agencies of the Federal Government. The CFR online is a joint project authorized by the publisher, the National Archives and Records Administration's Office of the Federal Register, and the Government Printing Office (GPO) to provide the public with enhanced access to Government information.
FindLaw Federal Resources – Links to US Federal Circuit Court Opinions, US State Codes, Statutes and Opinions, and the United States Constitution.
Internet Law Library – Recently, the United States House of Representatives removed the contents of the Internet Law Library, a site that provided links to a large number of topics of legal issues for American (federal and state) and foreign laws. At least eleven sites have posted the material from that site on their own servers. Following the suggestion of Elliot Chabot -- the person who created the original Internet Law Library -- maintaining the links and expanding the contents as a group, a committee formed that will help provide updated links to the various representations of the material. This link is to the Nova Southeastern University which is one of the sites that provides this service.
National Archive for Criminal Justice Data – Welcome to the National Archive of Criminal Justice Data (NACJD). Established in 1978 under the auspices of the Inter-university Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) and the Bureau of Justice Statistics (BJS), U.S. Department of Justice, NACJD currently holds over 500 data collections relating to criminal justice. This website provides browsing and downloading access to most of this data and documentation.
Supreme Court of the United States – Searchable database of Supreme Court Decisions, Opinions, Arguements, and items on the Current Docket.
The Federal Register – The Federal Register is the official daily publication for Rules, Proposed Rules, and Notices of Federal agencies and organizations, as well as Executive Orders and other Presidential Documents.
Thomas Legislative Branch Internet Resources – Wealth of information for Congressional and Legislative information on the Internet.
United States Code – The Office of the Law Revision Counsel prepares and publishes the United States Code, which is a consolidation and codification by subject matter of the general and permanent laws of the United States.
United States House Of Representatives Committee Office Web Services – Links provided by the U.S. House of Representatives to its Committee websites.
