| Memorial
Service for Dr. Scotty Klein
The
campus closed from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5. A memorial
service, honoring Dr. Scotty Klein was held in the Caster Activity
Center. Anyone interested in being at the service was welcome
to attend, and it was nearly standing room only when family, friends,
employees, faculty and staff walked in.
The emotions that flooded the room that afternoon were not of
sorrow, but of happiness. Those who knew him reflected on the
positive impact that Scotty had on their life, and those who didn’t,
couldn’t help wishing they did.
After the memorial service was over, an Afghan Pine was planted
in his memory outside of Heidel Hall. A tree was a rather appropriate
tribute to Scotty’s 30 plus years at NMJC. It sits alone,
representing the privacy he enjoyed. Its roots symbolize his illustrious
legacies. Finally, the branches exemplify how those legacies will
continually spread, and live on through each life he touched.
All will miss him greatly.
