Disney© Visits NMJC

Hailing from Orlando, Florida, Christopher White, a representative of Walt Disney©, was here to recruit students interested in working for the animation guru.

He was on campus to let students know about the college internship program, which he describes as an awesome opportunity to gain some great experience that will prepare students for the future.

This internship gives students a chance to create Disney Magic, and it’s also a great way to get the insight and training that makes students stronger thinkers, problem solvers and networkers.

The program usually lasts from August through the first week in January. You can also add a summer session.

The College Program is a paid internship that starts at $6.00 an hour with time and a half for any overtime worked. All participants are guaranteed a schedule of 30 hours per week with a maximum of 45 hours per week. Participants are expected to work the hours they are scheduled.

“We go to about 350 campuses each semester, all over the country, which usually equates to three or four thousand participants. There are no pre-requisites for these positions and they are open to all students,” said White. “It’s really a great opportunity to leave your comfort zone and experience something totally different.”
