The following are highlights of NMJC’s accomplishments
throughout the past year.
NMJC's Cosmetology Recognized Nationally
In the past year, students received several SkillsUSA (VICA) gold
and silver medals at state and national competitions.
NMJC Receives National Automotive Award of Excellence
The Ford ASSET program was the first place winner of the Automotive
Award of Excellence in 2001, and the GM ASEP program was runner
up in 1999.

Mexico Junior College
32nd Annual Awards Assembly
As everyone gathered in Watson Hall this year,you could practically
reach out and grab a handful of the eager anticipation that saturated
the room. This event has always held a special place in the heart
of NMJC, because these students were who their instructors felt
were the top of the class and worthy of recognition. The Master
of Ceremonies, Patricia Bowman, Professor of English, started
things off by recognizing the group as a whole as the cream of
the crop at NMJC.

Who's
Who Among Students
In the 2003
edition of Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges,
NMJC had 52 students selected as national outstanding campus leaders.
These students join an elite group of students from more than
1,400 institutions in all 50 states, the District of Columbia
and several foreign nations.

101 Things to Consider
This year at Hobbs High School, something wonderfully synergistic
occurred. NMJC’s and CSW’s recruiting offices working
together, invited juniors and seniors to attend a workshop. This
was not just any workshop though. It was one that would help students
decide where they wanted to attend college, and take the steps
to start the enrollment process. Thus, the workshop was aptly
named, “101 Things to Consider When Preparing for College.”
