Lady T-Bird Places First at Indian Relays

Outdoor Track Team Posts Five Top-Five Performances

April 6 – Hobbs, NM. New Mexico Junior College women's outdoor track team braved the wind for the Indian Relays April 6 at McMurry University in Abilene, Texas, for five top-five showings.

Kashain Page crossed the finish line four-tenths of a second ahead of her nearest competitor to claim first place in the women's 100-meter hurdles. The sophomore from St. Mary, Jamaica, finished fourth in the women's 100-meter dash.

One-tenth of a second better in the 100-meter dash, Cottrell Martin placed third with a 12.44. The sophomore from Freeport, Grand Bahamas, took fifth in the 200-meter dash with a 25.84.

Melissa Mafileo, a freshman from the Polynesian Tonga Islands, placed fourth in the shot put, throwing for 11.83 meters.

A sophomore from Hobbs, N.M., Lorraine Villegas came in seventh in the 1,500-meter run with a 5:42.41.

Raychelle Johnson, a freshman from Albuquerque, fell into 13th place in the women's 400-meter dash with a 1:04.72.
