March 27 – Hobbs, NM. Two members of the New Mexico Junior College Rodeo Team posted notable times at the Odessa College Rodeo Thursday-Saturday, March 23-25.
NMJC’s John Clark, partnering with Justin Loya of West Texas A&M, pulled down the best average in team roping with a 13.7. They rustled up a 7.8 for ninth in the long go and a 5.9 for first in the short go. Clark is a 19-year-old sophomore from Pecos, Texas.
Alicia Sandoval, a 19-year-old freshman from Bloomfield, N.M., finished with the fifth-best average in barrel racing with a 32.35. She was sixth in the long go at 16.29 and fourth in the short go at 16.06.
