October 10 — Alpine, TX. NMJC's cowgirl, sophomore, Kaily Richardson (Pampa, Tx) won the women's breakaway roping long go with the time of 2.5 sec., but had a
no time in the short round. Kaily split seventh/eight in the goat tying with the time of 8.1 sec. in the long go and was 9.6 sec. in the short go.

NMJC cowboys, freshmen, John Clark ( Pecos, Tx) and Cody Bulgier (Animas, NM) split first/second in the long go of team roping with a time of 4.9 sec., but were 23.0 sec. in the short round, taking them out in the average.

Coach Berry hopes the weather improves this week for practice. The week prior to the Sul Ross State rodeo, the NMJC campus and surrounding area had over 10 in. of rain.

Next NIRA/SWR Rodeo is at Vernon College, Vernon , Tx. , Oct. 7-9, 2004.
