Starting
her fifteenth year at New Mexico Junior College, Nelda is the Thunderspirits'
sponsor as well as a full-time professor of Physical Education and a Physical
Fitness Training Officer. She also works with the Corporate Fitness Program.
Mrs. Helms received both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees from Eastern New
Mexico University. She taught physical education in the public schools in Louisiana,
Texas, California, New Mexico, and at the International School in Median, Indonesia.
Nelda and her husband, Wayne, have two sons, Sean and Justin, and a grandson,
Gage.
