Transfer Student

Follow These Steps:

  1. Submit an Application
    • Complete the Online Application and allow two (2) business days for processing from the date of submission online (please be sure to hit submit & then log off).
    • Submit official college transcripts to the Registrar’s Office.
  2. Apply for Financial Aid. There are many different financial aid programs available.
  3. Complete Assessment. Assessment in reading, English, and mathematics helps determine your skill level and needs. If you have completed assessment testing at another college, you may send your assessment results to NMJC’s Counseling Office, (fax: 575.492.2558). These results must be received prior to registering for classes. In addition, if you have taken the ACT or SAT, you can use those scores as placement data.
  4. Meet with a Counselor. Meet with a counselor who will help you to develop your educational plan, refer you to appropriate services, and answer specific questions and concerns.
  5. Register for Courses. Two ways to register!
    • You can register online through the T-BirdWeb Portal. You will need your student identification number (A#) to enter the portal. If you do not recall your number, you can call the Registrar's Office, 492-2546, or Technical Services, 492-2500. You will have to disclose some personal identifying information before your student identification will be released over the telephone.
    • You can also register on campus in the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center.
  6. Pay Your Tuition and Fees.  Payment is required to complete registration. You can pay for courses online, in-person, or by phone. We accept most major credit cards, checks, and cash. We also offer a convenient payment plan (FACTS) through the e-Cashier. Payment or arrangements through FACTS must be made within 48 hours.
  7. Get your Student I.D. Card. Your Student ID card is free of charge and may be obtained at the Student Life Office in the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center.
  8. Purchase your textbooks. Visit our bookstore located in the Ben Alexander Student Learning Center. You can also order your books from our online bookstore.
