Whether you're a first-time college student, a transfer student, are returning to school after one or more semesters, or are taking classes to upgrade your job skills, New Mexico Junior College can help you achieve your goals. In addition, we offer dual credit and concurrent enrollment to high school students.

Our flexible educational programs are designed to fit your lifestyle and meet your educational goals. We offer part-time or full-time; daytime and evenings, semester long and short-term courses.

Definitions

New or first time student
A first time college student is a student who has never attended college before. (As a high school student, if you took dual credit or concurrent enrollment, you are considered a first-time freshman.)

Transfer student
A student who has attended another college or university is considered a transfer student.

Continuing student
If you were enrolled in at least one NMJC credit course the previous semester, you maintain this status even if you withdrew from college before the end of the semester. DO NOT reapply for Admission.

Returning student
If you have previously attended NMJC, but have been away for one or more semesters, you are a returning student.

High school student
If you are currently in grades 9-12 and will be in high school while taking NMJC classes, you are classified as a high school student.

International student
If you are from a country outside the United States and are seeking an I-20 to study at NMJC, you are an International student.
