Office Technology

Office Technology photoToday’s modern office offers exciting opportunities for individuals possessing the necessary computer and other office technology skills to succeed. New Mexico Junior College provides an active, hands-on learning environment where you learn all necessary skills and have fun doing it. Office Technology Certificate and Degree plans enable graduates to move into the work force and advance.

NMJC is constantly upgrading computers and other technologies to ensure equipment and software that are “state of the art” technology. Our classes cover the most popular software packages used in business, including Microsoft Windows and Office, the latest accounting programs and keyboarding software.

Program Coursework

New Mexico Junior College offers three program options in Office Technology. Students not wishing to pursue a particular program may enroll in courses relevant to a specific skill.

  1. Administrative Assistant Certificate
    designed to provide basic skills required for entry-level positions.

About NMJC

New Mexico Junior College is located in the heart of Lea County. The college started its first year of operation in September of 1966 with 728 students. Today, NMJC carries an annual enrollment of approximately 2,600 students. NMJC's mission is to provide a variety of life-long learning opportunities for the people of the service area. NMJC offers two-year degrees in applied science, science, and arts. The college also offers several certificate programs.

Enrollment

To enroll in the NMJC office technology program, a student must have a high school diploma or a GED certificate. Students with other unique circumstances can obtain information sheets on eligibility from the Registrar's Office, NMJC, 5317 Lovington Highway, Hobbs, NM 88240.

Financial Aid

Financial aid in the form of scholarships, loans and grants are made available through the Financial Assistance Office in the Administration Building. Consulting with the financial assistance officer is advised in advance of the semester in which the student wishes to enroll.
