Law Enforcement Academy Rules and Regulations

Law enforcement academy protocol is an important aspect of this training Academy. Listed below are excerpts from the rules and regulations involved in the program:

All students shall:

  1. Comply with all rules, regulations and procedures outlined in the Student Handbook. Students will conduct themselves courteously, perform all duties in a thorough and conscientious manner, without hesitation, and carry out all orders, commands, and instructions given by authorized personnel.
  2. Not commit any acts that are incompatible or in conflict with public service or that might cause any unfavorable reflection upon either the Academy and/or their respective Departments.
  3. Each student will be required to bring the necessary notes, books, handouts, and equipment to class for the scheduled subject.
  4. Students shall be prompt in reporting for classes, inspections, and assignments.
  5. Be professional in use of proper language, thereby limiting the use of profane, vulgar, or obscene language.
  6. Eat and drink food only in the designated places. Smoke in designated places.
  7. Not use/and or possess intoxicating liquor or controlled substances in any form within the Training Center or related facilities.
  8. If applicable, obey all rules and regulations set forth by each officer's individual department.

This list is not meant to be totally inclusive and the Academy handbook addresses issues such as dress, grooming, equipment, classroom demeanor, physical training, absences, tardiness, sickness, and weapons.
