The Federal Work Study Program provides jobs for students with demonstrated financial need. These funds are awarded through the financial aid office, but must be earned through employment at the college. The student will earn the current Federal Minimum Wage rate per hour and normally will not work in excess of twenty hours per week. A student may not earn more than their demonstrated need, after all other financial aid resources have been awarded. Should a student receive aid subsequent to their employment at NMJC, they may be terminated at any time to avoid an overaward situation. A student may also be terminated for non-attendance or non-performance of job duties. Students are paid twice a month and payroll checks are distributed through the Business Office during regular business hours.
